Topics to be announced soon

Alex Domenech is one of the chairs for the DISC committee.

Alba Arveras Martínez is one of the chairs for the DISC committee. She is currently a junior student at the German School of Barcelona. She has lived in Barcelona for her whole life. Having joined MUN in 10th grade, she has already taken part in five conferences, with two being international conferences (FWWMUN and LyonMUN), yet all of them were online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, she is very excited to be a part of the live conference BCNMUN 2022! She has also been involved with NESDA in 2022. Model United Nations means a lot to Alba, because she believes that it can teach you many things that school-work cannot, such as researching skills, patience, time management, speech writing, counterarguments, and listening to different points of view. Debating is only one part of it; she also sees it as an opportunity for students to get an idea of how the United Nations procedure works and lets them grasp a sense of whether diplomacy might be a career choice for them. Alba has been interested in pursuing the position of chair in a conference for quite some time now and she is honored and very excited to finally take on this role in BCNMUN 2022. She looks forward to the conference and is hoping for a fun, but nevertheless fruitful and productive debate.

Maria Belousova is one of the chairs for the DISC committee. Currently a junior at Benjamin Franklin International School in Barcelona, she has a high interest in international relations and politics. Originally from Moscow, Maria has lived in Spain for over 7 years. As an individual Maria is also passionate about art, judo, volleyball and physics. Her MUN career started in 9th grade, and helped her develop many future goals through learning experiences in international affairs. She has had the privilege to experience MUN from different perspectives, taking the role of delegate several times, as well as chairing international conferences in committees like Security Council and UNHRC. She believes MUN provides deep insight into the political, cultural and economic issues the world is facing, and sees conferences as a chance to connect with people from all around the world with similar interests and passions. Some of her best memories have been at MUN, and as a chair in the Disarmament Committee Maria hopes to make this BCNMUN conference an amazing experience for all delegates, similar to the ones she has had in the past.
