AOIFE S. is the President Chair of Security Council for BCNMUN 2025. Born on the West Coast of the US, she is Irish American and has lived in Barcelona since she was three years old. Although she attended a local Catalan school through first grade, she could not be more happy as a Senior at the American School of Barcelona. It is her fifth year in Model UN, and she has enjoyed all her experiences as both a delegate and a chair. Participating in MUN has been an amazing experience for Aoife. It has helped her grow as a public speaker and allowed her to interact with current events and real-world happenings on a new level. MUN aligns with her values because she believes that the program is good at fostering empathy, hard work, and integrity. This makes MUN a valuable experience for any young person regardless of what field, political, scientific, or other, they intend to pursue later in life. She hopes that BCNMUN 2025 will present itself as an opportunity for both experienced and first-time delegates to make friends and be exposed to new perspectives.

Krista C.  is one of the expert chairs of the Security Council. Born in the United States to an American and Bulgarian, she grew up in a multicultural environment, spending school seasons in the US and summers in Bulgaria. With the differences in history, geography and culture of the two countries, Krista learned at an early age how to recognize how such differences affect people’s outlook, perceptions and expectations. She moved from the United States to Spain at the age of 11. At her first international school, Krista founded the Middle School debate club and served on the student council throughout her time there. This year, at ASB, Krista was the only new student to the school to be elected to the High School Student Council, as well as the only female representative of 9th grade. Krista has always been fascinated by global relations and multinational co-operation. Through MUN, Krista has been able to explore those ideas on a deeper level, understanding how and why certain governments act the way they do. MUN has also helped her begin to understand one of the largest global organizations. BCNMUN 2025 represents Krista’s first experience in chairing a committee.

ELIANA W. is one of the expert chairs of the Security Council. She is currently a senior at the American School of Barcelona, having previously lived in New York and Colorado. Eliana’s passion for debate and deep interest in international affairs inspired her to join MUN when the opportunity first arose at her previous school, and since has been fortunate to participate both as a delegate and a chair in conferences across Europe and in the US, including BCNMUN, THIMUN, and NAIMUN, allowing her to improve her public-speaking skills and connect her with students with similar interests from around the world.  She deeply cherishes how MUN has become a key aspect of her high school life, and is grateful for the supportive and dynamic MUN community and the many opportunities that MUN engagement has allowed her, whether meeting fascinating people or exploring a new city. As a chair, Eliana is excited to contribute to a lively and original debate and to help delegates with all levels of experience to feel simultaneously supported and challenged to share their ideas.

"The United Nations is calling this the decade of action, from 2020 to 2030, because if we don't take immense action, there will be irreversible damage. If we don't, we are looking at an increasingly difficult world to survive in."
